About

Fold-out lithograph, in its original slipcase with the original protective paper bearing the title, author, and publisher.

Comes from the Alchemy series - The Alchemy series is a distinct continuation of the earlier Modulations series, which began in early 1988. It originated from small sketches inspired by chance observations—ideas that gradually took shape, asserted themselves, and ultimately demanded to exist. This led to a process of repetition and comparison, resulting in numerous drawings. Some of these developed into small paintings, which in turn became the foundation for new ideas and larger works.

While revisiting a drawer of older works, the artist found three or four early pieces—monotypes made in Buenos Aires between 1957 and 1958, just before moving to Paris—that already contained the seeds of what would later become Alchemy.

The artist reflects on how we all carry many embryonic ideas, some of which unexpectedly resurface after years of quiet development. However, many vague ideas never fully materialize.

Remaining indifferent to the pressures of artistic trends, the artist strives to preserve creative freedom, even at the risk of self-contradiction or disturbing those who expect a defined "style."

In this spirit, the Alchemy series is embraced wholeheartedly as part of the artist’s ongoing experimental journey.
